The new look . . .

Woooo-ooooo! Yes, I'm back – in fact I've been here all the time, but I took some time out from blogging while I fixed some glitches. After ten years working in this studio it was time for a serious clear-out. The old shelves are now in the store-room, the bookshelves from the room next door are now in the office, the piles of stuff cluttering every surface of the studio (I'm too embarrassed to show you this) is going to be put away or thrown away. Clearing up feels so right – new year, new decade, new look. I got quite carried away – even my hair got a new look.

And this morning I just couldn't resist (the green background looked so last decade) – my blog is getting a new look too.

See you soon
Celia

  1. Good to see you back Celia - hope all the glitches are now sorted.

It does feels good to have a clear out every now and again doesn't it! I liked your blog as it was actually but I know what you mean about change and getting a new pared-back look. Love the hair too!

  2. Thank you Jeanne. I did think about starting a new blog and leaving the archive as it was. But life's too short, I swept the old layout away with a click of a button and now have a clean white space.

Now... what shall I do next/

  3. It clears the mind as much as it clears the physical space. Can't wait to see what the clean-up does for your art.

  5. Welcome back! Hope everything goes smoothly now.

There is a definite air of needing to clear everything out and start fresh here as well - perhaps I should follow your lead and book a fab new haircut!

  6. Nice to have you back! Love the hair.

I like a white background. Some blogs are on black - they hurt the eyes of the elderly!

Had a good clear out in our spare room while you were away - it's now a sewing room. Still has the seeds and chitting spuds in though!

  10. Was a delight to see your post this morning! I am in the same boat as you- am looking a huge pile of kids clothes that came out of their rooms and now needs to go to "goodwill", mabe I will try and bag them up today and at least get them to the car!

  11. I have missed you & I'm glad your back with the glitzy revamp (however now I'm going to have to do something about the last decade green look I've got - although like an avocado bathroom suite I could wait to come back into fashion)

  16. Hello Celia, and congratulation on your new year's clearing out. I still am trying to accomplish much of the same in this little apartment of mine ... while simultaneously ordering up a new book or three, and skeins of yarn.

Hopeless. At least I do still dust and vacuum (hoover) occasionally, and get the weekly laundry done.

Love your new hair style! Looking forward to your next lino cut. You continue to inspire me to think of this medium as one I can return to.

  18. Hi Terry - it feels good already - and I'm only halfway through - I've already got new projects planned ;-)

Hi Threadspider - the green background had been bugging me for ages!

Hi Dottycookie - go for it!

Hi Veg Heaven - there are chitting potatoes in my studio too :-)

    Hi Allycol - thank you!

Hi Ed - snow's all gone from here - but it's sweeping in again over northern England today.

Hi Toffeeapple - I wanted my blog to have a similar feel to my main web site (which will also get a little makeover in the next few months)

Hi Julia - My wardrobe hasn't missed out on the clear up - I've started so I'll finish!

Hi Rhiannon - I was conscious on the greeness not working with some images I wanted to post - some juxtaposed colours can appear very discordant to me.

Hi CS - I'm looking forward to visiting your forum.

Hi Matron - this spring clean has distracted me from seed sowing and garden planning.

Hi Silverpebble - it certainly is a new 'do' and it feels good!

Hi Gina - good to have a clean page and a fresh start.

Hi Moreidlethoughts - I haven't finished here yet! A trip to Aus is tempting and I've never been to the east coast.

Hi Jules - looking forward to following what's cooking over on your blog.

Hi Jacqui - I have plans...

Hi Frances - there comes a time when clearing up is a necessity - and this is it. (The new hair do has helped immensely)

  22. Lovely to have you back Celia, and I love the new look, nice and fresh and bright, and easier to read. Well done on the clear out, as you know I'm having a major reorganisation at the moment and seeing your finished result is making me excited about being at the same stage.
Can't wait to see what you do next!

  23. Hi Julie - I've a long way to go before this 'spring clean' is done.

    Hi Michelle - thank you!

Hi Jackie - I'm looking forward to visiting your blog more often.

Hi Penny - there's stuff everywhere! At least my studio's little office is a haven of neatness. Next door is another story...
