SPICE GIRL LAYS EGG

and being a style-conscious chick
she's matched the shape and colour
with a certain luscious cook's
ceramic kitchenware

  3. Clever girl - my favourite colour - but surely that is a duck egg? Are we sure the spice girls don't have identity crises? Perhaps it's Christmas - everyone wonders who they are at this time of year!

  6. No duck egg - you've got a "true blue" Araucana!
    Funny, but they are not very popular here because people think the eggs might be inedible, having a blue shell.That aside, Araucana hens are not cheap, due to low demand and quarantine. (Can't bring in any new breeding srains;not just these.)

  7. my paternal grandmother kept aracaunas. she called them her easter egg chickens due to the colored shells. wonderfully easy-tempered creatures--unlike the little bantams!

  10. The egg was laid by Saffron Spice. Ginger Spice has also started laying, her eggs are a delicate shade of sage green.
