Testing my new online shop

I've been busy framing and packing my two new woodcuts 'My heart leaps' and 'Love song' for sending out to galleries; and the new range of 'not just for Valentine's Day' cards is in my card shop. But I wanted an online shop for selling my original unframed prints directly from my web site . . . and I think I've found a way . . . there's nothing like jumping in the deep end, is there?!

I've found that the only way to really learn and test these things is to go live in a small way and see if it works. You can find my new online shop via my web site (when you get there, click on 'the new online shop' in the web site menu, I'm not giving you a direct link, because I want to test that it all works).

I'd really appreciate feed back, so please let me know about the things I've missed that you'd need to know about the prints that are for sale; or stuff that doesn't work; or anything bad (or good). It's the only way I'll learn and make the shop work.

And if anyone does really want to buy one of the new unframed woodcuts via the new online shop, hopefully it will work but in case it doesn't please give me a shout and I'll put on my 'customer services hat' to sort it all out for you.

    1. Thank you for taking a look... Nothing ventured, as they say ;-)

  3. I had a look and the links all worked fine. I love your art work, it is so beautiful. The only thing I could think that people may want to know is sizes? Not really sure if this is relevant though. Best of luck with it!

    1. Thanks. There are some issues with the shipping costs, I think I know where the problem lies so will fix it tomorrow.

  4. It seems to work fine Celia. The website looks very swish!

  5. I may have missed a previous post, but can I just ask why you've decided to have two different shops - I find it a bit confusing (they are both online shops) and if someone wanted to buy a print and a card? I like shops on the actual website (feels personal doesn't it) - perhaps you could call it Original Prints shop - or certainly make this a bold statement to be seen when you arrive at the shop. It is lovely and clean and easy to use.

    1. Good point. And I'll be rejigging the web site home page v soon.

Eventually my web site shop will have everything - cards and original prints. But I thought the only way to learn and test how it was working, was to offer a few things for sale in the new shop.

I will keep the Etsy shop but it won't sell the original prints, just cards and other designed stuff.

Thanks for some very useful feedback x

    2. It is very exciting renewing, changing, adding - but quite daunting too - your new styling looks great and is a perfect framework for your beautiful work - (was I a bit too critical - sorry!) I see it is just a start and of course you have to test the water (I'm doing it myself) - hope the water feels good and you get lots of customers in the new shop.

    3. Will the link to the cardshop eventually change to Celia Hart - cards and designs (rather than MCE) - I think I must be (I am) easily confused!!

    4. No, not too critical ... excellent to have some constructive feedback. I need to make sure the links and headings/names are clear and unambiguous.

Yes I will find any stray links to MCE and change them... but Etsy handles the name change and you will get to the new shop. It's a re-branding and I think Etsy followers get a message saying my shop has a new name.

You have been really helpful xx

  6. I love this new print so very much. But I'm still kinda partial to the bird's valentine one too.

I even mentioned it in my recent She's Crafty blog post.

  7. Thank you, I've popped over to find your blog post xx

btw: all my cards are digital reproductions but based on my original linocuts or woodcuts (the original prints are also for sale). The birds' wedding day was a linocut (the original limited edition print has now sold out).

I love reading all the comments (except for spam and advertising which I will delete) and I'll reply here in the comments under each blog post, it may take a few days if I'm busy.
You don't need to have a blog to leave a comment, you can select the name/URL option and fill in just your name instead of a blog link.
