Country Living Magazine - December issue

The cat's out of the bag!

Some of you might have noticed already . . . there's a feature about me and the inspirations for my block prints in this year's Christmas issue of Country Living Magazine. If you subscribe you probably received it last week, but it will be on the news stands very soon.

I'll tell you a few behind the scenes secrets . . .

I've had to keep this under my hat for 10 months.

I designed my "Christmas 2013" designs just before last Christmas (which was weird!)

The photos, were taken by Laura Edwards early last February when Suffolk was under a blanket of snow.

I pretended to draw non-existing birds in a hedge for one of the shots.

Cheep and his hens upstage me in another photo.

The studio assistants refused to co-operate.

Before writing the article, Louise Elliot spent a whole day with me in the summer, both in my studio and visiting some of my favourite local places.

I enjoyed meeting both Louise and Laura, hope you like the feature they put together.

Celia

I did not realise you were so local . I teach art and horticulture in Haverhill. My students are working under the theme british country side and your work is displayed in my art room. Youre an inspiration and having read your article I'll be getting my lino tools out and getting creative over half term, there's nothing nicer than the smell of lino and the sound of ink on the roller! Well done on the article. great work:) kind regards

  16. When my copy arrived last week I put it to one side for a while because I try to hold out about Christmas for as long as I can. I gave in yesterday and was amazed to find the article but so thrilled for you too. What great exposure for your talents. I hope lots comes from it.

  17. Celia, once again, I send big congratulations to you on being featured in this very well-read Christmas issue. I will be monitoring the international newsstands at Barnes & Noble for my own sighting.

I've been plunged back into a heavy NYC schedule, but will be doing more posting soon, and also have more to tell you via email. Soon, I promise.
